This research project will investigate into laser brazing technology for joining high temperature ceramics, focusing on optimization of brazing parameters and development of filler materials for use in a wire-fed based joining system.

Hairuo Tan was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. She graduated summa cum laude from Colorado School of Mines with Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in May 2016. She joined the Center for Welding, Joining, and Coatings Research in August 2016.
