Growing up on a farm in Pullman, Wash., Karsten Anderson learned the joy of handiwork at a young age. As a child, he built a fire brick forge and borrowed forging equipment from his uncle to craft his own knives. This aptness was bolstered by his father, who pushed Anderson to explore and develop different skill sets.
