Bio

Peter Corwin started at CSM as a PhD student in Space Resources in Fall 2020.  His research focuses on the characterization and alloy development of iron extracted from lunar regolith for in-situ additive manufacturing.  Prior to CSM, he spent five years as a metallurgist for a steel company, focusing on heat treatment of bars and seamless tubing for automotive, industrial, oil and gas, and defense applications.  He received his BS and MS degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Materials Science and Engineering.  His MS work was on surface and mechanical characterization of titanium-zirconium based alloys for electrolytic capacitor applications.
