Bio

Charles Smith is currently pursuing a M.S. with research focusing on a data driven qualification framework for metal additive manufacturing. More specifically, focusing on microstructure mapping of 316 stainless steel based on process parameters and solidification behavior. Charles graduated magna cum laude from CSM in December 2020 with a B.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. As an undergraduate, Charles worked on research looking at mechanical properties of Q&P advance high strength steels and baked hardening advance high strength steels.
