Bio

Aaron is a Doctor of Philosophy student studying under Dr. Zhenzhen Yu and working on joining processes for the renewable energy industry. His work is directly focused on the application of metallography, alloy design and mechanical testing to develop a methodology for joining high-temperature ceramics to metals for molten salt transportation pipelines. This project is being performed in conjunction with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado. As an undergraduate, Aaron’s focus was on welding engineering and his research experience focused on the weldability of supermartensitic stainless steels for the oil and gas industry.
